Where's My Target Audience?...

My primary target audience would be executives and managers at various faith based nonprofits, although I am open to nonprofits that are not faith based as well, that form partnerships with musicians to help promote their causes.

Although there are numerous organizations that match this description, ideally, some of my target audience would be from the following nonprofits:

-Senior Director of Global Marketing
-Internship Coordinator/Recruiter
-Holly F. (Media Relations Manager)

-Scott Harrison (CEO)
-Paull Y. (Director of Digital Marketing)
-Christoph Gorder (president)
-Lauren Kane (Special Events Project Manager)

-Chief Marketing Officer
-Scott Case (Vice Chair)
-Erica Lichtenberger Vogel (Communications Manager)

-Global Brand Director

-Barrett Ward (Executive Director)
- Marisa Pardo (Community Brand Manager)

-Director of Speakers and Strategic Partnerships
-Chief HR Officer
-Marketing and Communications Resource Manager

At this point, although many are on Twitter and Facebook, I have found my target audience hanging out primarily on LinkedIn (unfortunately, I'm currently unable to access their exact names which is why I am starting out with a larger target audience than initially planned, as I continue using LinkedIn, the audience will be revised).  There are also several organizations I am following, and groups that I have requested to join that match my target audience.

While I’m still learning about and adjusting to the LinkedIn environment (I’ve been stuck in the age of paper resumes), I’m excited to see what connections will be made and where they will lead.

  3. Gina - this is a great blog post. A couple of comments and suggestions. Remind your readers about your professional brand right up front and your objectives. Then at the end, ask for advice. This is a good way to spark discussion. And get some ideas from the class. As for your target audience, do some google searching and see what you find. Look beyond the traditional Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter sites ... and see if there are niche social media sites, media or other places where your target is "hanging out." Let me know what happens. Nice post! Best yet that I have seen. Perri

    1. Thanks for the feedback! So far, I haven't had much success in finding where my target audience is hanging out beyond Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter; however, I have started to look into MeetUp. Charity: Water has a group created for their volunteers and posts upcoming volunteer events that they hold at their office in NYC, I was thinking that may be a way to network with current employees there and get my foot in the door. Other than that, I'm still searching to find other sites where my audience is hanging out. Thanks again.
