New Season, New Semester, New Blog?!

Autumn is just a week away and the changing of the seasons often brings with it new possibilities and opportunities. The semester has just begun and I can already tell our Social Media course is going to be fulfilling not just academically, but personally as well.

That being said, I think creating a class blog is a great and interactive way to implement what is taught in class and keeps the discussion going until the next meeting. I think it will also really demonstrate why Social Media is important for brands and help develop our personal ones. It’s also a great networking tool!

What I really hope to get from this class is learning how to properly blog and take what I learn in class and leveraging that into the development of my personal brand. Creativity and remaining genuine to who you are are starters, but I want to work on reaching my target audience.

Style Me Pretty
I have always toyed with the idea of creating my own lifestyle blog because it's benefits are two fold: it's serves as a creative outlet and I can share with the world what inspires me, and hopefully inspire them. Unfortunately, work and school often keep me from finding the time to start.

I think participating in the class blog will force me to take the first step and do it.

I follow quite a few different blogs but the one I catch myself visiting all the time is the wedding blog, Style Me Pretty, as I am in the midst of planning my wedding. (It has actually been a personal favorite long before I got engaged, but we’ll keep that between us.)

What always keeps me coming back is that Style Me Pretty serves as a wonderful resource for wedding inspiration and planning, complete with DIY tutorials, vendor lists and beautiful images of real weddings. If I’m not careful, I can get immersed for hours.

Looking forward to awesome semester,
Ashley M.
