I am calling it Home Security Missions. It will be a synopsis of my sit-ins with families and businesses on planning their security system.
Sounds thrilling right? Good! I knew you would agree with me.
But seriously it actually can be, especially to someone it directly applies to. My challenge will be making it interesting to the individual not thinking about any form of security in their life.
I plan to also use my Twitter and LinkedIn accounts to create some consistency with my personal brand and this new blog.
I have already created the blog and the first post has been made, but in an effort to create a decent first impression, I will share it with you all in a week.
In short, I am rather excited. I have fun with a lot of my security appointments, and I believe creating a blog will be the key for some new opportunities.
Congratulations Anthony! I don't about you, but starting my own blog seemed really daunting at first, but now it's exciting. Now to stick with it and keep the content fresh...
ReplyDeleteI think it will really help you with your personal brand. Good luck with it!
I tried one time it lasted for about a year, gave up on it...goodluck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletegoodluck ! I'm sure it will be a great start for you and your company you work for !
ReplyDeleteLet me first say congrats Anthony and to simply say "just do it."
ReplyDeleteI will have to say when it comes to creating one keep in mind timeliness, consistency across various channels (glad you mentioned that), and content....did I mention content?
I've dabbled in a blog or two in my time and its awesome as first, but keeping up with the content is probably the most challenging. You're constantly immersed in your field via work so I don't think you'll have a hard time churning up unique posts.
From my experience I will say that my best advice to you is to get into the habit of typing; typing often, and typing well grammar wise. What comes from practicing all three of these aspects of typing is habit forming which will contribute to you keeping pace with how often you publish content.
If you've read my article about Perez Scott-Fox he is not one to promise you a post once a week or once a month, but however he chooses. Luckily for him I'm a patient man, but that suit doesn't fit everyone so keep that in mind.
Good luck to you and I hope it all pushes you forward to being a valuable asset within your company - godspeed.
That's a great idea. You seem to really know your stuff in that field...Good luck!
