Finding Automotive Media & Marketing Groups

Though I have been working in the automotive industry, I would like to stay in the same industry and work directly through an automotive manufacturer instead of being a consultant or working for a 3rd party. I have a Linkedin account, I have been following my target audience in my account but only have been looking at my news feed and not anything else.

I found my target audience hanging out on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter to promote their products on their accounts. Most Linkedin accounts for the industry focused alot about what is going on (through their news feeds as well) and also jobs in the industry.

A while ago I joined a few groups through Linkedin, which really helps for those who are seeking work in this field. I have been looking for Marketing, Events, and Automotive training and have found groups which could help me land the job or company where I could grow with my career in the field.

  1. To supplement your search through channels such as LinkedIn I would highly recommend giving Google+ a dig.

Keep in mind that not every soc-net functions the same and that messages are conveyed in varying degrees; Twitter is quick and short that often leads you to other landing pages to obtain information whereas Facebook may touch on topicsin it's "groups", but it is more on a personal level that may be too in-depth for what you're trying to find.

This is where I recommend Google+ "communities". There is a sense of heightened sincerity and passion for the the communities that are created by the people and obviously for the people of that soc-net. I believe LinkedIn shares that same passion and vibe, but it's a tad bit too "formal", for a lack of better description.

I'll stop here from running my mouth any longer and will just say to give it a look when able. Keep in mind that your Kean email account already has access to it! At least its one less thing to join.
